Public Sector Technology
Traditionally, the public sector has lagged behind the business world in its use of technology to improve services and engage with the public. A Policy Exchange study suggests that digitisation could save the government up to £70bn by 2020. With close scrutiny of public spending, focus is now turning towards cloud computing, shared services, utilising public data and improvement of public sector procurement to ensure the UK sets an example, globally, for public services.
